Final draft for ‘Israfil’ handed in to Fajr Festival

Final draft for Iranian movie 'Israfil' has been submitted to be screened at Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

Last polished version of Iranian movie ‘Israfil’ has been submitted to Fajr Film Festival in Iran for screening in the event.

The final draft for Iranian female actor Aida Panahandeh’s latest movie was handed over to the festival organizers to be sent to secretariat and screening office of Fajr Filmfest.  

The music for the movie was composed by Majid Pousti and the sound effects were finalized by Iranian sound designer Hossein Aboulsedq.

‘Israfil’ is the second feature film by Panahandeh. The drama deals with human challenges and needs.

“The girl who loves Behrouz will return. The dead will return to life,” the movie’s synopsis writes.

The movie features Hedieh Tehrani, Merila Zarei and Hoda Zeinolabedin.

Established in 1982, Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th Fajr Film Festival will be held in February 2017.

In Islam, the word 'Israfil' refers to the angel assigned to blow the trumpet on Judgment Day.
